The Cove Initiative, NFP is a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families throughout Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. We are a small but powerful grassroots organization built on compassion, dignity, and the belief that every family deserves support—especially during times of hardship.
WHO WE ARE
We are a volunteer-led nonprofit created by community members who are passionate about meeting essential needs, empowering families, and strengthening connections across our county. Our leadership, volunteers, and supporters work together to uplift our neighbors through practical support and meaningful outreach.
WHAT WE DO
We provide Blessing Boxes, hygiene items, household essentials, youth-focused events, seasonal support, community outreach, and resource navigation. When families reach out with needs, we do our best—based on donations and inventory—to match them with the items and support that will help ease their situation. For needs we cannot fulfill directly, we collaborate with community partners and use tools like IRIS to connect families to additional resources.
WHY WE EXIST
Many families in our area face transportation challenges, financial strain, unexpected emergencies, and barriers to accessing traditional support services. The Cove Initiative was created to fill the gaps—to be a trusted, approachable place families can turn to when they don’t know where else to go. Our focus is on meeting families where they are, offering dignity, compassion, and hope.

OUR STORY
The Cove Initiative began with a simple desire to help families who were struggling with transportation and access barriers. What started as small acts of service—a Blessing Box here, a donation of essentials there—quickly grew as community members rallied together to support our mission. As needs increased, so did our determination to expand our efforts. Today, The Cove Initiative is a growing nonprofit built on teamwork, generosity, and the belief that even small acts can create big change. Every step of our journey has been shaped by the families we serve and the community members who believe in our mission.
