At The Cove Initiative, NFP, we are committed to supporting families, children, and youth throughout Jefferson County by offering essential resources and meaningful community connections. Our programs are designed to meet immediate needs, provide encouragement, and help families navigate challenging times with dignity and hope.
Blessing Boxes
Our Blessing Boxes provide families with essential items such as non-perishable food, household necessities, cleaning supplies, and other practical resources. These items are given based on availability and donated inventory. Families can request support at any time, and we do our best to provide items that reduce financial strain and offer immediate relief.
Hygiene Items
We understand that hygiene essentials can be a significant expense for families. As inventory allows, we offer items such as shampoo, body wash, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine products, and baby care items. These items help families maintain dignity and comfort during difficult times.
Coats & Seasonal Support
Throughout the year, we collect and distribute coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other seasonal essentials. Whether it’s winter wear during cold months or cooling items during hot weather, we aim to help families stay safe, warm, and comfortable.
Youth Events & Engagement
We believe in building positive experiences for children and teens. Our youth programs include community events, themed activity nights, resource giveaways, and opportunities for safe, fun engagement. These events encourage connection, creativity, and belonging among local youth.
Community Events
From Coats & Cocoa to holiday support, giveaways, collaborations with schools and churches, and family resource days, our community events bring people together and provide vital support to families in need. These events also help raise awareness and strengthen community bonds.
Partnerships & Referrals (IRIS)
Through our partnership with IRIS (Kansas University), we can refer families to additional community services when their needs extend beyond our scope. This includes food programs, mental health resources, early childhood services, transportation support, and more. Our goal is to ensure families are connected to the right resources quickly and efficiently.
